One on my hobbies is the creation of functional and decorative ceramic art.
Public Art: Together with Seth Andrews and Elliott Taylor, we created a made to order cyanotype workshop at Santa Cruz's Museum of Art and History 3rd Friday's event.
PanDANMonium Public Art: Together with Seth Andrews and Elliott Taylor, we built a lounge for the 2015 UCSC DANM thesis show made of locally harvested shipping palettes, bamboo, and burlap sacks. The upcycled lounge area acted as a meeting place for former DAMN Alums looking to kick back during the weekend's festivities.
Hawaii Carbon Cycle Illustration: An illustration of the terrestrial carbon cycle on the Big Island of Hawaii. Created for a journal article and conference poster. Photoshop.
Land Cover Change in the American Southwest: An illustration of land cover change in the Buenos Aires Wildlife Refuge in Southern Arizona. Created for a journal article and conference poster. Created with e-on Vue, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Haywired Scenario Illustrations: A series of illustrations for a USGS Circular on potential impacts of an earthquake on communications infrastructure. The diagrams depict the interconnections in our broadband, broadcast, cellular and other infrastructure, and where failures and vulnerabilities lie in those networks. The map below is a work in progress, and will be used as a backdrop to tell the story of how communications failures could affect individuals in the Bay Area before and after a rupture along the Hayward fault.
